155 new jobs with above-average salaries will be created in regions of Slovakia with higher unemployment levels

On Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at its meeting in Borša, Trebišov district, the Government of the Slovak Republic approved a proposal from the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic (MoE SR) to provide investment aid in the form of income tax relief amounting to more than 8 million euros for three investment projects: 1. Deliace centrum, s.r.o. in Strážske; Magna PT, s.r.o. in Kechnec; and Uniconn Technology Slovakia, s.r.o. in Košice. This will create up to 155 new jobs with above-average salaries in eastern Slovakia, specifically in regions with long-term higher unemployment levels. The supported projects will contribute to the development of production capacities in the Košice region, particularly in the areas of electromobility and metal processing.

„The development of less developed regions is our priority. Today, we have therefore approved support for three investment projects that will create up to 155 new jobs. Every such investment in eastern Slovakia is of great importance. It brings better infrastructure, new job opportunities and higher salaries than the regional average. Above all, it gives people the opportunity to stay in their regions and not have to leave to find work elsewhere,” said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Denisa Saková.

The first recipient of investment aid is 1. Deliace centrum, a company that has been operating in the field of steel sheet processing since 2009. Investment aid of €376,485 will enable the expansion of the production plant in the Michalovce district, where at least four new jobs will be created. The increase in production by almost 49% will significantly boost production in the region, which has long been one of the least developed.

The second company receiving support is Magna PT, which will expand its production in Kechnec with components for electric motors, thereby contributing to the development of electromobility in Slovakia. The project will create 24 new jobs requiring secondary education in the Košice district, while the company will also retain more than a thousand existing positions. The planned average salary for the new jobs, at €1,785, will be above the regional average. Investment aid of €4.2 million, exclusively in the form of income tax relief, will support the diversification of production and the further development of the industrial zone in the region.

The largest investment project – the third to receive support – is the new facility for Uniconn Technology Slovakia, which will produce contact systems for battery modules. This is the group’s first production plant within the EU. The investment will create up to 127 new jobs with a significantly above-average salary of €2,325, compared to the district average of €1,669 in 2023. Up to 61% of the production will be exported to EU countries. The total amount of investment aid in the form of income tax relief will reach €3.5 million.
