A strategic step for Šurany: Signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation in the Preparation of the Construction of the City Bypass

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Denisa Sakova, Minister of Transport Jozef Ráž and MH Invest CEO Adrián Jenč were joined by the Chairman of the Nitra Region Branislav Becík and the Mayor of Šurany Marcel Filaga in signing the Memorandum of Cooperation for the preparation and implementation of the Šurany bypass in connection with the preparation of the Šurany Industrial Park.

"This memorandum is an important step towards improving the transport infrastructure, which will not only contribute to the development of industry, but also to improving the quality of life of the residents of the city and the entire region. Our mutual cooperation is therefore key to the successful realisation of these objectives. I believe that together we will be able to realise and achieve all the milestones ahead of us and have a positive impact on the entire region and Slovakia," said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Denisa Saková.

Under the Memorandum, the parties have agreed on a number of concrete steps to ensure the smooth progress of preparations for the construction of the bypass. The state-owned company MH Invest, under the Ministry of Economy, will prepare a feasibility study and obtain the necessary permits. It will also initiate the environmental impact assessment process. The Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic and the Ministry of Transport of the Slovak Republic will jointly look for ways to ensure the financing of all necessary activities. The Nitra self-governing region and the town of Šurany have promised active cooperation in approving the necessary land use plans and permit procedures, which will make the whole implementation process more efficient.

The Šurany bypass is of strategic importance. Its construction will contribute to the improvement of the transport infrastructure in the region and create more favourable conditions for further investments, not only in the planned industrial park. The bypass will serve as an important transport artery connecting the strategic area to the motorway network, thus supporting the development of industry and services in the area.

The aim of building an industrial park in Šurany is not only to attract investment opportunities, but also to support the sustainable development of the region. The parties involved have therefore committed themselves to giving equal importance to the protection of the environment and the quality of life of the inhabitants, while complying with all legal standards and regulations.
