Almost 300 new jobs with above-average salaries in the Žilina region and support for the transition to electromobility
Thanks to a proposal by the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic (MoE SR) for investment aid for Hyundai Mobis Slovakia s.r.o., which was approved by the Government of the Slovak Republic on Wednesday, October 19, 2025, at the meeting in Višňové, up to 298 new jobs with average salary €2,969 will be created in the Žilina district. The salary will thus significantly exceed the district average, which was €1,670 in 2023. While the investment aid provided will take the form of income tax relief only. At the same time, this will support the diversification of Slovak industry and the transition of the automative sector to electric mobility.
“South Korean companies are among Slovakia’s long-term and reliable partners. I am pleased that, also thanks to the investment by Hyundai Mobis Slovakia, high-quality jobs with above-standard remuneration will be created in the Žilina region. The Government’s decision will thus contribute to ensuring that people in Slovakia not only have jobs, but also fair salaries and prospects for the future,” said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of the Slovak Republic, Denisa Saková.
Approval of the MoE’s proposal will contribute to the diversification of production at the existing plant in Gbeľany with new products – airbags, electronic brake boosters, and electronic rear drum brakes for cars, also half of the planned production will be intended for export. The total eligible investment costs amount to € 66,309,785, while the Government of the Slovak Republic approved the investment aid exclusively in the form of income tax relief in the amount of €12,130,975.
Hyundai Mobis Slovakia s.r.o. is a part of the Hyundai Mobis Group, which was founded in 1977 and is leading global supplier of automotive components. In Slovakia, the company operates in Nováky as well as in Gbeľany.
