Another challenge from the Slovak Recovery and Resilience Plan: The Ministry of Economy will support hydrogen refueling infrastructure for businesses

Further support from the Slovak Recovery and Resilience Plan towards a sustainable future for transport in Slovakia On 3 July 2024, the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic, as the implementer of Component 3 - Sustainable Transport of the Slovak Recovery and Resilience Plan, launched a call for proposals to support the construction of a pilot hydrogen infrastructure for road transport, with the aim of developing a publicly accessible hydrogen refueling infrastructure alongside the road infrastructure in Slovakia.

"Supporting the development of hydrogen infrastructure is a key step towards a sustainable future for transport in Slovakia. This initiative not only contributes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, but also strengthens our energy independence and innovation potential. I believe that investments in hydrogen technologies will bring long-term benefits to our economy and the environment," said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of the Slovak Republic Denisa Sakova.

The total amount of funding allocated to support hydrogen refueling stations is EUR 3 000 000, excluding VAT, up to a maximum of 50 % of the limit of eligible costs per refueling station.

Eligible applicants are natural or juridical persons within the meaning of Section 2(2)(a) to (c) of the Commercial Code, registered in the Commercial Register of the Slovak Republic or operating on the basis of a trade license or on the basis of a license other than a trade license in accordance with special regulations.

The eligible area for this call is the territory only:

         (a) Urban hub

         (b) The area along the TEN-T core network.

The appeal will remain open until the allocated amount of the Mechanism's budget allocated to the appeal is exhausted, but no later than 31 October 2024, or until the Implementing Agency decides to close the appeal.
