In Green for Businesses, companies have the green light.

Micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises can now apply for grants to install equipment that uses renewable energy sources under the national project Green for Businesses, managed by the Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency (SIEA) under the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic. In the first stage, companies operating in the Bratislava region may apply for support. Other regions will follow, each with its own allocated funds.

The project supports the transition to a sustainable, low-carbon economy and is funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the Slovakia Program. In the first application stage, 4.2 million euros are available, while the total allocation for the Green for Businesses project amounts to 66.56 million euros. The Bratislava region is the first area where selected equipment can be installed. Other regions and technologies will follow according to the preliminary schedule, with support for photovoltaic panels and wind turbines planned for June.

The maximum eligible expenses that applicants can be reimbursed for are set according to current specific conditions. For solar collectors with storage, the limit is 1,000 euros per installed kilowatt excluding VAT. For heat pumps without storage, the limit is 800 euros per kilowatt, and with storage 850 euros per kilowatt. Storage means a tank with a capacity of at least 20 liters per installed kilowatt. These amounts may be updated once a year depending on the price trends of supported equipment. In the Bratislava region, applications can be submitted from May 5 to November 5, 2025. If demand exceeds the available allocation, SIEA may close the voucher process earlier.

The information system at www.zelenapodnikom.sk is already open for registration. Applications for vouchers can be submitted from May 5, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. If the number of applications exceeds the available allocation, the unsatisfied requests will automatically be placed in a reserve list and may be reviewed later if funds are released or increased.

The relationship and obligations between the business entity and the grant provider are governed by the voucher agreement, which forms part of the project’s general conditions. The agreement requires the company to complete the installation within six months of the agreement taking effect and to keep the equipment operational and used for its intended purpose for at least five years after reimbursement.

Company representatives had the chance to learn about the call conditions and application process during a professional webinar held on April 29, 2025. SIEA organized the event to present project details, explain eligible expenses, and answer practical questions from potential applicants. A recording of the webinar is available on the project website:
