More than 14,200 Green Households vouchers issued

The Green Households project, launched by the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic together with the Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency (SIEA) to support the installation of renewable energy equipment - biomass boilers, heat pumps, solar collectors, photovoltaic panels or wind turbines - is now open for the issuance of vouchers for all types of supported equipment. In the first few weeks since the launch, a total of more than 14,200 vouchers have been issued in the different phases with a total value of more than €40 million.

"The measures we took to ensure a smooth start-up of the system proved to be justified and sufficient, and we did not experience any technical complications in the first days after the system was put into operation. I am glad that this project has been launched and that people can benefit from the state's contribution to modern energy equipment," said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Denisa Saková.

Since mid-July 2024, contractors have activated more than 14,200 applications in consultation with households. Vouchers for photovoltaic panels and heat pumps have attracted the most interest. The Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency has so far issued 7,383 vouchers for photovoltaic panels, 6,055 vouchers for heat pumps, 698 vouchers for solar collectors and 135 vouchers for biomass boilers.

At the same time, SIEA has already received the first applications for reimbursement and has started to assess their completeness and accuracy. The first vouchers, which can cover up to 50% of eligible costs, will be reimbursed in the coming days. EUR 107.7 million is allocated to support the installations of the Green Households project financed by the Slovak program. The Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic also reminds that households have 90 days from the issue of the voucher to install the equipment.

Households will continue to be able to apply for a voucher for all five types of supported equipment on an ongoing basis via an online form. Applications can be activated by authorized contractors to whom households send the activation codes they receive after registering their application. Vouchers will be issued on Tuesdays at 11.00am for all activated applications.

For more information, visit www.zelenadomacnostiam.sk, where you will find a recording of the webinar and practical information on how to use the voucher. Support is also available on freephone 0800 199 399 if you have any questions.

The Ministry of Economy also repeatedly points out that in the third quarter of 2024 there is plan to launch the new Green Solidarity project, under which low-income households will be able to obtain vouchers with up to 90% reimbursement for the installation of biomass boilers, solar collectors and photovoltaic panels. A budget of EUR 30 million has been allocated to this project.

Households can use the calculator to check if they qualify for higher subsidies. If their income does not exceed the set amount for higher assistance, the MoH SR recommends that they wait to activate the issue of vouchers under the Green Households project. Once the new Green Solidarity project is launched, they will be able to confirm in an online application that they meet the conditions and the value of the voucher will be automatically adjusted to a more favorable one.
