More than 15 million euros will be invested in energy efficiency in public buildings in Upper Nitra region
The Ministry of Economy (MH) of the Slovak Republic, in cooperation with the Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency (SIEA), has prepared an appeal for applications for a contribution from the Slovakia Programe aimed at improving the energy efficiency of public buildings in the Upper Nitra region. More than €15 million from the Fair Transformation Fund will be made available for this purpose.
"We are helping municipalities to make the transition to clean energy and at the same time reduce their heating or lighting bills. This appeal is not only a financial support, but also a clear signal that the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic is actively contributing to improving the quality of life and energy independence of our towns and villages," said Denisa Saková, Minister of Economy of the Slovak Republic.
The appeal, launched on Monday 14th of October 2024, aims to support office buildings, schools, hospitals, sports halls and other public buildings that have the potential to achieve at least 30% primary energy savings. This approach will ensure reduced energy costs and increased comfort for the region's citizens.
"Our goal is not only to meet the EU's climate neutrality targets, but also to improve energy management at the local level. For the municipalities and towns in the Upper Nitra region, this means concrete help and an opportunity to improve their public services," added D. Saková.
Only projects included in the list of strategic projects for the Equitable Transformation Fund approved by the Partnership Council of the Trencin self-governing region are eligible for support under this appeal.
The Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic is trying to reduce the administrative burden for applicants and therefore the appeal is open and can be submitted on a rolling basis. The first evaluation round will close on 8th of November 2024, with further rounds taking place on a weekly basis. In addition, the whole process is in a simplified mode, allowing applications to be submitted electronically, saving time and resources for applicants.
