Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic Róbert Fico and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of the Slovak Republic Denisa Saková expressed their full support for the Gotion Inobat Batteries
Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic Róbert Fico and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of the Slovak Republic Denisa Saková welcomed representatives of the joint Gotion Inobat Batteries project at the Office of the Government of the Slovak Republic today. They discussed the planned investment in Šurany.
Government representatives confirmed that, as of today, the Slovak Republic has fulfilled all the milestones set out in the investment agreement for the preparation of the strategic site and infrastructure, and that there are no obstacles on the part of the state that would prevent the investor from carrying out the construction.
In March of this year, the Government of the Slovak Republic (the Government), at the proposal of the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic (MoE SR), declared the industrial park a strategic investment, which helped to shorten and simplify the procedures in the building permit process, occupancy permit process, and also in public procurement for the preparation of the site. Prime Minister R. Fico confirmed government’s commitment to secure state funding for the project. He also confirmed that the Government’s interest in organizing an away meeting of the Government in the Šurany region. This could take place in the fall of 2025. The planned investment and its benefits will be discussed with representatives of the Self – governing regions concerned.
Prime Minister R. Fico also asked the investor for maximum support in involving Slovak companies in subcontracting chains. He plans to discuss this project with the President of the People’s Republic of China during his visit in Beijing in September.
The Chinese side announced the start of preparatory construction works (earthworks) and declared its full readiness in terms of personnel, financial, and organizational matters. The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Gotion Hi-Tech, Zhen Li, also presented other planned development activities in Slovakia and asked the Governtment of the Slovak Republic for support.
The investment by Gotion Inobat Batteries represents a potential positive reference for other investors. It is also one of the largest investments in Slovakia’s history, amounting to €1.2 billion, which will take the automative industry in Slovakia to a higher level and greatly contribute to improving its competitiveness.
