Saková: We support industry that creates jobs and drives exports – Žarnovica receives an investment boost.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of the Slovak Republic, Denisa Saková, today submitted a proposal to the government to provide investment aid to Neuman Aluminium Fliesspresswerk Slovakia, s.r.o. The investment aid, amounting to €1.1 million in the form of an income tax relief, will support the expansion of production capacities in Žarnovica.

“Our goal is for Slovakia to be more than just an assembly plant—we want it to be a country where high-quality, value-added products are created. That’s why we support investments that bring not only jobs but also modern technologies and productivity growth. The Neuman Aluminium project combines all these elements. In a region with strong development potential, it will establish a stronger industrial hub connected to international markets,” said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Denisa Saková.

The investment plan includes increasing the production of aluminum components for reversing cameras and wheel dampers by more than 200%. The project will create at least 20 new jobs with an average gross salary of €1,830, which is significantly above the regional average. The total eligible investment costs amount to nearly €9.7 million, with more than half allocated to new machinery and technological equipment. The production expansion will take place within the existing facility in Žarnovica, strengthening the local industrial infrastructure without the need to use agricultural land.

Neuman Aluminium Fliesspresswerk Slovakia, s.r.o. has operated in Slovakia since 1996 and employs approximately 240 workers. It is part of the Austrian Neuman Aluminium Group, a major supplier of components for the automotive, electrical, construction, and packaging industries. Products manufactured in Žarnovica are primarily exported to EU countries, where they become part of components used in premium car brands. The group emphasizes innovation and efficiency, continuously modernizing production processes across its plants. The current project also plans to use modern CNC machines, cold-pressing technologies, and energy-efficient solutions.

The Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic views this investment as an example of supporting projects that align with the government's strategic goals—balanced regional development, the creation of quality jobs, technological modernization, and export growth. The Banská Bystrica Region has long lagged behind the national average in both employment and income, and targeted support for industry is one of the tools to help reduce this imbalance.

“Slovakia cannot afford to miss out on the opportunities that real investments bring. We must be proactive, flexible, and ready to create an environment where it pays off for investors to develop production, research, and exports. Every new project that makes sense for the country and the region deserves our full support,” added Saková.
