The Ministry of Economy is bringing new investment to the Prešov and Kysuce regions. Up to 150 jobs will be created in regions with high unemployment
Up to 150 new jobs with higher wages than the district average will be created in the Prešov and Kysuce regions. On Wednesday, 10 July, the Slovak government approved two investment grants proposed by the Ministry of Economy to support new investments by De Jong Slovakia and Schaeffler Kysuce. Both investments represent a significant contribution to the Slovak economy and will not only support employment in regions struggling with high unemployment rates, but also technological development in the regions.
De Jong Slovakia plans to build a new plant in Nižná Šebastová, near Prešov, for the production of stainless-steel water tanks for heat pumps. The investor plans to invest more than EUR 63 million and create at least 150 new jobs, the average wage of which will be significantly higher than the average in the district. In order to support the implementation of this investment plan, the Government of the Slovak Republic has approved investment aid in the total amount of EUR 11 421 722, exclusively in the form of income tax relief.
"De Jong Slovakia's investment is a significant benefit for the Prešov region. The construction of the new factory will contribute to increasing employment and improving economic conditions in the region. I am pleased that the investment will be made in one of the sectors that are key for the transition to a climate-neutral economy, as well as the fact that the company has committed to paying above-average wages, which will significantly contribute to improving the standard of living in the region," said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of the Slovak Republic Denisa Saková.
Schaeffler Kysuce, spol. s r.o. plans to expand the capacity of its existing plant in Kysucke Nové Mesto for the production of electric front and rear axles for e-mobility, which will be products for pure electric vehicles. The investor will invest more than 22.6 million euros and create at least 11 new jobs. The average wage for the jobs created will be significantly higher than the current average in the district. In order to support the implementation of Schaeffer's investment plan, the Government of the Slovak Republic has granted investment aid in the total amount of EUR 3,000,000, also exclusively in the form of income tax relief.
"The expansion of Schaeffler Kysuce's capacity is another step in the promotion of e-mobility in Slovakia. This project will bring new job opportunities to the region and contribute to the development of technological innovation in the field of electromobility," said Minister D. Saková.
The Ministry of Economy continues to actively support initiatives that contribute to economic growth and improved living conditions throughout the country.
