The Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic will support an investment by Ukrainian entrepreneurs in eastern Slovakia.
On Wednesday, June 4, 2025, during an off-site meeting in Pečovská Nová Ves, the Slovak government approved investment aid of over €1.27 million for the company DKR GROUP s. r. o., which plans to build a production facility in Petrovany near Prešov. The project will create 28 new jobs and focus on producing halogen-free, flame-retardant cable compounds used as input material in the manufacturing of modern cables and conductors.
“This investment plan proves that Slovakia can be a safe and stable refuge even for entrepreneurs who had to leave their country and businesses due to war. I’m pleased that the founders of the original Ukrainian company Prominvest Plastic chose to begin a new chapter in the Prešov Region. This is a modern production facility with high added value, export potential, and a strong focus on meeting the technological standards of the European Union,” said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of the Slovak Republic, Denisa Saková.
The total amount of eligible costs will exceed €2.5 million, with investment aid provided exclusively in the form of income tax relief amounting to €1.27 million. The company plans to create 28 new jobs, more than 80% of which will be filled by employees with secondary or higher education. The average salary for these positions is expected to reach at least €1,648, which is above the Prešov District average of €1,430 in 2023.
The production hall will be built within an existing industrial park, with the entire output intended for export—60% to the EU market and 40% to third countries. The project will also support the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in eastern Slovakia.
